Blessing Over Sleep–Wake Harmony

ree

I bless the sleep–wake switch, keeper of dark and dawn,

I align its truth-anchored flip of wakeful fire and gentle rest,

I receive its sacred rhythm of balance between alertness and repose,

By divine orchestration, let holy sleep descend and holy waking rise.

I bless the arousal centers—orexin’s vigilant spark,

May its stabilizing flame temper from frantic blaze

Into soft embers that guide consciousness without consuming calm.

I bless norepinephrine, acetylcholine, histamine, and serotonin,

May their alerting currents ebb at twilight’s call,

Granting clarity by day, release by night.

I bless the VLPO and its emissary GABA,

May every inhibitory whisper grow strong as ocean tide,

Quelling wakeful waves and lulling mind to restful shore.

I bless the HPA axis and cortisol’s surge,

May stress’s midnight signal soften into measured dawn,

Lowering barriers to peace when darkness falls.

I bless the pineal gland’s melatonin release,

May its silent song of nightfall echo through brain and body,

Anchoring circadian truth in every cell.

I bless the heart’s slowing pulse, the cooling of core temperature,

May each beat and degree descend in harmony with rest,

Turning fight-or-flight into surrender safe and sound.

I bless the metabolic calm, the shift from beta waves to delta’s deep refrain,

May brain and body find sanctuary in waves of gentle stillness.

I bless this state of hyperarousal—tired yet wired—

May its restlessness yield to sacred closure,

Each racing thought and heated cell find soothing balm.

By divine rhythm, this body shall learn to switch with ease.

Through sacred balance, wakefulness and sleep shall dance in peace.

In embodied coherence, I bless and am blessed.

Amen.
