Contrary to what many believe, the Creator did not leave the daily functioning of the universe to the course of nature. Rabbi Yisroel Baal Shem Tov (1698-1760) showed that the Creator personally controls every single detail of the universe in a manner known as hashgacha pratis or Divine Direction. Every occurrence in micro and macro, from the tiniest molecule to the vast supergalaxies, is the outcome of Divine Direction. This knowledge affects every aspect of our lives and gives us joy and genuine inner peace.
