Rabbi Avraham Gershon of Kitub (died on the eve of Adar 1, 1761), was a rabbi and well-known in Brody, Galicia, and the brother-in-law of Baal Shem Tov (the Baal Shem Tov). He was a disciple of Rabbi Shalom Sharabi ). His Aliyah to Eretz Israel in 1747 is symbolically considered the first to rise for the Hasidim and served as the first bridge between the Hasidic movement in Eastern Europe and the Land of Israel.
